brotkasten

An introduction

The brotkasten is a personal project to build a computer that is "how I thought computers should be before I knew how they are". The project holds some nostalgia for me, but it is not a retro project as it does not try to reenact some past, but a future that never came. It should not confused with many retro projects. Also there might be only a few prototypes. It is not my intention to make this a product.

brotkasten-1

The current iteration ("1") consists of a number of board all performing specific parts of the system. Not all boards are yet build. Most use AVR microcontrollrs to perform their task. This makes the system inherently a multi-proccessor system. It runs SIRTX as it's operating system.
